This masterpiece of infernal craftsmanship appears as a suit of dark, blood-red plate armor. Faint, golden filigree, reminiscent of celestial wings, traces the edges of the pauldrons and gauntlets, while a darker, more severe filigree pattern echoes the brand of Lady Lydira over your heart. The armor feels unnaturally light and seems to hum with a strange, dissonant energy, a perfect fusion of holy and unholy power.
Adamantine Core: You are wearing Adamantine armor. Any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit.
Magical Protection: You have a +2 bonus to your Armor Class while wearing this armor.
Curse of the Unholy Forge: The infernal components used in the armor's creation have made it anathema to pure divine energy. You have vulnerability to radiant damage.
Celestial Flare (1/Day): As an action, you can cause the golden filigree on the armor to blaze with holy light. You and each friendly creature of your choice within 30 feet of you gain temporary hit points equal to your level + your Charisma modifier.
Heart of Ice (1/Short or Long Rest): When a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to unleash a burst of supernatural cold from the ice devil's heart forged within the armor. The attacker must make a Constitution saving throw (using your spell save DC). On a failed save, the creature takes 4d8 cold damage and its speed is reduced to 0 until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, it takes half as much damage and its speed is not reduced.
Lydira's Claim: This armor is now intrinsically linked to Lady Lydira. While you are attuned to it, she is aware of your general location and emotional state. She can communicate with you telepathically at will. This connection cannot be blocked by any means short of a Wish spell.
Attunement:
Perform an Act of Pure Self-Sacrifice: You must willingly expend a significant personal resource to heal or protect another creature without any expectation of reward.
Embrace an Infernal Bargain: You must willingly accept a minor curse or make a small, tangible sacrifice in exchange for a piece of forbidden knowledge or power from a fiendish source.
Endure the Reconciliation: At the end of a long rest, after fulfilling the first two conditions, the wearer must make a DC 20 Charisma saving throw. On a success, you successfully reconcile the warring celestial and infernal energies within the armor and become attuned to it. On a failure, you take 10d6 psychic damage as your spirit is temporarily torn apart by the conflict, and the attunement fails.
(Fulfillment of the prerequisite conditions is at the discretion of the Dungeon Master.)
Note: Lady Lydira is a powerful and beautiful erinyes in the fiery realm of Phlegethos. A fallen angel serving as a high-ranking devil, Lydira is a proud, cunning, and dangerous warrior who took a predatory interest in Jophiel, the first owner of the armor. The brand she bestowed is a mark of her favor, a claim of ownership, and a direct, telepathic link to her across the planes. This unique suit of Adamantine Plate armor was reforged in Malbolge, the sixth layer of the Nine Hells. It was crafted by the legendary hag artisan, Anacreda the Angelmaker, leader of the coven at the Sign of the Hag's Arms. The paladin Jophiel commissioned the work to create armor that would reflect his paradoxical nature (celestial heritage and a fiendish brand). Anacreda accepted the dangerous commission, using the frozen heart of Chyron, a slain ice devil, and two pints of Jophiel's own unique blood as the primary components. The armor was magically woven and stitched together during a long, agonizing procedure, resulting in a masterpiece that fuses the holy and the unholy, but at the cost of imbuing the armor with a vulnerability to pure radiant energy.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
Notes: Immunity: Critical Hits, Vulnerability: Radiant, Bonus: Armor Class, Stealth Disadvantage: Remove, Combat, Warding, Str. 15 Required, Stealth Disadvantage
