A False Mimic Sword is a magical item created by a bored masterful wizard. The item possesses a consciousness and can telepathically communicate with a being it is in contact. The sword has an ability to identify mimics that reliably identifies mimics as such, but has a minor chance to misfire on an object that is not a mimic.
In first moments of its existence it has used the mimic identification on itself which has misfired leading it to falsely believe being a mimic. It will try to behave as a mimic and will constantly identify all objects around for being a mimic to stay aware of its "rivals".
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, This item functions more like an NPC than a magic item. Therefore doesn't have to be a longsword specifically. Technically, the Identify Mimic spell is occupying a spell slot and can be swaped up with another spell or ability of DM's choosing and by the means DM deems necessary. , Damage, Detection, Combat, Sentient, Versatile, Sap
