As a bonus action, you can shake the timepiece and hit the button to activate a version of the spell Time Stop, stopping time for everyone (except those you select).
Inside, view the value of each die rolled - there will be 1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 2d10 (OR 1d100), 1d12, and 1d20.
Select one of the die - this is the number of minutes time is stopped (you may use the d100 for this roll)
The remaining dice may be used to do any action requiring a roll, but each can only be used once.
Example: d4 = 2, d6 = 5, d8 = 2, d10 = 9, d10 = 80, d12 = 11, d20 = 20
The d10s are selected for the duration = 89 minutes
This is long enough for the players to receive the benefits of a short rest
The Sorcerer's hit die is a d6, so they use the 5 to recover 5 HP
Then the Cleric uses healing word on the fighter to recover 2HP (+ their spellcasting modifier)
Then the Fighter attacks an enemy with the Natural 20 to hit, but because there is only 1 d12 available, can only use that for 11 (+ damage modifier) damage.
The party can't find anything to do with the d8, so it is "wasted"
At the end of the duration, time moves imperceivably for everyone else.
