An amulet bearing a dark purple gem that pulses faintly with necrotic energy.
While attuned to this amulet, your physical attacks are empowered by necrotic magic.
-
Necrotic Empowerment. Whenever you hit with a melee weapon attack or unarmed strike, the attack deals an additional 1d12 necrotic damage. Immediately after the attack resolves, you take 1d6 necrotic damage.
-
Amplify (1/Long Rest). As a bonus action, you may amplify the amulet for 1 minute. While amplified, your melee weapon attacks and unarmed strikes deal an additional 2d12 necrotic damage instead of 1d12. Immediately after each such attack, you take 2d6 necrotic damage.
Once you use this feature, it can’t be used again until you finish a long rest.
Curse — Shadowed Bond.
This amulet is cursed, and becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. Removing the amulet requires breaking attunement. When you attempt to end attunement, you must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the attunement remains and you take necrotic damage equal to half your maximum hit points (rounded down).
Notes: Damage: Necrotic, Damage: Necrotic, short rest spent holding the amulet against your chest while focusing on its pulsing gem. As the attunement completes, a cold numbness spreads through your body, followed by a faint echo of whispered thoughts not your own. Once attuned, the amulet subtly binds itself to your soul. You feel its hunger whenever you strike another creature, and each attack draws a fragment of your own vitality into the gem. The amulet resists removal, and breaking attunement is both painful and dangerous.
