When you hit with an attack using this magic weapon, the target takes an extra 1d8 lightning damage. Also, while you hold the weapon, you have resistance to lightning damage.

In addition, you can use a bonus action and speak the weapon's command word, pointing the weapon at a location and surging as a bolt of lightning to that point. You cast the new beluud's brutal jaunt spell targeting a location within range. The spell deals lightning damage instead of force damage, it is cast at 5th-level, and its range is doubled. The spell DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. Once this ability is used, it can't be used again until the next dawn.

Proficiency with a Spear allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
