"Oh, I think I have something for that in one of these pockets here!", is the phrase old man Aabfiz would always say.
This worn down, dark grey, beat up old coat has a light grey lining with many and various hidden pockets for spell components. This old overcoat was once a very fashionable and well crafted piece of finery. Now it is beaten up but sturdy, saggy, and a little misshapen. It is always too-big and seems to default to having it's sleeves rolled up, leaving it looking anything but magical.
While you are wearing it, you gain the following benefits:
- You can use the coat as a spell casting focus for wizard spells.
- You can try to cast a cantrip that you don’t know. You do not need to be capable of spell casting to use this ability, but you must have seen the spell cast before if you are not a Wizard. The cantrip must be on the Wizard spell list, and you must make a DC 10 Intelligence (Arcana) check. If the check succeeds, you cast the spell. If the check fails, so does the spell, and the action used to cast the spell is taken up. In either case, you can’t use this property more than twice until you finish a long rest.
- This coat has a special pocket that can hold a spell book unseen as though it isn’t there.
This coat does not add to your stats while wearing it, but you feel magical while wearing it! As beat up as this coat is, it never seems to get dirty or rip.
Notes: humanoid wearing for a full day*
