One of the items used by the Seven Sages of Destruction, the Scale of Obedience compare both mana's souls and deliver a justified sentence: The weaker soul is forced to submit itself to the other throughout its mortal existence.

Spell of Obedience, Auserlese: Choose a creature that you can see within range. The DM compares the weight of your and the creature's mana on the plates. If your mana surpasses the opponent's one, they recieve the Charmed condition for 2 turns and are forced to do whichiever actions you wish. However, if the opponent's mana surpasses yours, you recieve the Charmed condition for 2 turns. If the difference of mana is of 5 points or less, the weaker target rolls a 1d20 + it's Constitution modifier with a DC of 14. On a successful roll, they recieve 1 extra turn before being affected by the Scales (2 turns on a critical roll).
