The Aegis Gauntlets are a matched pair of articulated bracers and gloves, forged from layered plates of pale platinum alloyed with something older and stranger — a metal that feels neither warm nor cold, but steadfast. Their surface is etched with fine, interlocking lines that resemble overlapping shields, each pattern subtly unique, yet perfectly aligned when viewed as a whole.
At rest, the gauntlets appear almost plain, their craftsmanship precise but restrained. When worn, however, faint lines of light awaken beneath the metal, tracing the etched patterns like slow-moving constellations. These lights shift in response to danger, tightening and brightening when the wearer steps between harm and another.
This armor is leather armor with heavy rings sewn into it. The rings help reinforce the armor against blows from swords and axes. Ring mail is inferior to chain mail, and it's usually worn only by those who can't afford better armor.
