Atium looks like a bead of a silvery-white metal. You can swallow it as a bonus action and suffer no ill side effects such as metal poisoning. For one minute after doing so, you can see an atium shadow of every creature around you. This atium shadow lets you see what the creature will do in advance, although you can't interact with an atium shadow, nor do they produce sound. By seeing what creatures will do in the future, you can't be surprised, you gain Advantage on attack rolls and saving throws, and creatures gain Disadvantage on attack rolls made against you and on Strength and Dexterity saving throws made because of you.
Two-thousand years ago, Ati, the god of ruin, was attacked by the god of preservation, Leras. Among other factors, one result of the conflict was in the formation of atium, the result of tiny fragments of Ati's divine essence made manifest as physical objects. However, the original atium had effects more related to stealing abilities from others, but those effects have faded over the past two millennia, as a result of the atium's formation near a deposit of electrum, and the two metals mixing together to create a new effect.
