Ammunition. This arrow can be fired only with a bow or a crossbow by a creature that has proficiency with that weapon. When you fire this arrow, its magic activates whether the attack hits or misses, and the arrow’s magic is then expended.
Fire Burst. When you fire this arrow, make a normal ranged weapon attack against a creature within your weapon’s normal range, or fire the arrow at a location you can roughly indicate within your weapon’s normal range. The arrow detonates where it strikes a creature or surface.
On a hit, the target takes the weapon’s normal damage, and the target must also make a DC 10+Proficiency Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes an additional 2d4 fire damage, or half as much fire damage on a successful one.
Each other creature within 5 feet of the impact point must also make a DC 10+Proficiency Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d4 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
Indirect Fire. If you fire this arrow at a location you can’t see, creatures making these saving throws have advantage.
Burning Ground. The detonation ignites the ground in a 5 foot radius centered on the impact point until the end of your next turn. A creature that enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there takes 1d4 fire damage.
Burning. A creature that fails the saving throw is Burning until the end of its next turn. While Burning, the creature takes 1d4 fire damage at the start of its turn. The effect ends early if the creature is doused or submerged, or if another creature uses an action to extinguish the flames.
Retrieval. After the magic is expended, the arrow can be retrieved if not broken, but it is nonmagical. The arrow is destroyed if it strikes a hard surface such as stone or metal.
Notes: Damage: Fire, Damage, Combat, Consumable
