While wearing this armor, you gain a +1 bonus to Armor Class, you have Resistance to Fire damage, and you understand Infernal when spoken. In addition, when a creature attempts a grapple against you or damages you in melee they take Fire damage equal to your proficiency bonus. Also, the wearer gains a slight move speed bonus and learns the Unseen Servant as the chains respond to the will of their attuned user. Finally, these chains may be commanded to animate an unattended vehicle which does not have a beast of burden drawing it. The vehicle gains a land speed of 60' and may carry passengers or cargo up to its volume limit or a weight of 3,000 lbs. If no vehicle is present, the chains may animate scrap wood and metal equal in value to at least 50gp which it permanently destroys, reassembling it into a semblance of a cart with the above stats for 8 hours at which time the materials reach their limit and fail. While conscious and at the helm of a vehicle created or animated by the Animated Chain Wrappings, the attuned user has proficiency in land vehicles.
Made of interlocking metal rings, a chain shirt is worn between layers of clothing or leather. This armor offers modest protection to the wearer's upper body and allows the sound of the rings rubbing against one another to be muffled by outer layers.
