Forged in the Grand Armory of Trance channel and stamped with the sigil of the Mountain home anvils. This suit of deep-bronze dwarven plate is trimmed in black iron and etched with angular runes of warding along every seam. The pauldrons resemble overlapping mountain peaks, and faint heat radiates from the chestplate as if a forge burns somewhere behind the metal.
When worn, the armor smells faintly of coal smoke and hot stone.
Properties
+1 Plate Armor.
You gain a +1 bonus to AC while wearing this armor.
Forge-Warden’s Bulwark (3 charges per day or session [whichever is longer]).
When you are hit by a melee attack, you may use your reaction to expend 1 charge and erupt with a burst of forge-sparks. The attacker takes 2d6 fire damage (Dex save DC 15 for half).
If the attacker is wielding a metal weapon, it glows red-hot until the start of their next turn, giving them disadvantage on their next attack roll unless they drop it.
The armor regains all expended charges daily at dawn.
Stand Like the Mountain (1/day or session [whichever is longer]).
If you would be knocked prone or forcibly moved while standing on stone, you can choose not to be moved and instead reduce the triggering damage by 10.
Lore
This armor was traditionally worn by captains assigned to guard the inner armory vaults. Legends say the last bearer refused to retreat during the fortress’s final hours, standing in a collapsing corridor until the magma sealed the breach behind him.
Some dwarves claim the armor grows warmer when enemies of Mountain home draw near.
Plate consists of shaped, interlocking metal plates to cover the entire body. A suit of plate includes gauntlets, heavy leather boots, a visored helmet, and thick layers of padding underneath the armor. Buckles and straps distribute the weight over the body.
