The Ancient Ocean Eldritch Trident is forged from a strange black alloy veined with living seawater filaments. Its three prongs drip with brine and pulse with violet eldritch energy. Ripples of water seem to cling to the haft, and faint whispers echo from the haft’s runes.
Usage
The Ancient Ocean Eldritch Trident holds 7 charges. It regains 1d6+1 expended charges each dawn when submerged in or sprinkled with salt water. If it fails to drink salt water within 48 hours, it siphons life from its wielder, dealing 1d6 necrotic damage per hour until replenished or the wielder falls unconscious. While holding the trident, you can use an action to expend charges to activate one of the following effects: • Eldritch Wave (3 charges): Conjure a 30-foot cone of crashing seawater and eldritch force. Each creature in the area must make a DC 18 Constitution save, taking 4d8 cold + 4d8 force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. • Abyssal Grasp (1 charge): As a bonus action, you throw the trident (as a normal ranged attack). On a hit, the target is pulled up to 10 feet toward you and restrained by spectral tentacles until the end of your next turn (DC 18 Strength check to break free).
Lore
Legends claim this artifact predates the cosmos, shaped from the essence of eldritch seas and bound to the eyeless horror legend as Miltia the Eyeless. It surfaced in the earliest myths of deep-sea civilizations and has since drifted between mortal hands, leaving drowned wrecks and madness in its wake.
Proficiency with a Trident allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
Notes: Damage: Necrotic, warlock of the Great Old One patron or a creature of 8th level or higher., Thrown, Versatile, Topple
