This ornate brass compass contains a floating crystal needle suspended within a glass dome, etched with drifting constellations. The instrument glows softly with a faint starlight, its needle slowly turning in response to astral currents. Navigators, spelljammers, and explorers prize these rare devices for their uncanny ability to guide travelers through the vastness of the Astral Sea.
While attuned to this compass, you always know the direction of true Astral North. In addition, you gain advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks made to navigate, track a route, or avoid becoming lost in unfamiliar terrain, wilderness, or planar environments.
As an action, you may activate the compass and name a location, creature, or landmark you are familiar with. For the next 10 minutes, faint motes of starlight appear before you, forming a subtle glowing trail that indicates your chosen destination. This guidance reveals direction only, not distance, and fades if the destination lies on another plane. The compass has 1 charge, which is recharged when you complete a long rest.
Notes: Requires Attunement from an Astral Wizard - True
