Forged by precision-minded artificers, the Arcane Viper Longrifle uses a coiling mana conductor inside its barrel—mimicking the movements of a striking serpent. Each shot accelerates through an arcane rail, achieving impossible stability and range.
Arcane Channel
You can channel spells through the rifle’s focusing rune. When you cast a spell that targets a single creature, you may fire it as a shot:
-
You must make a ranged weapon attack instead of the spell’s normal attack or save.
-
On a hit, the target suffers the rifle’s 2d10 piercing damage plus the spell’s effects.
-
If the spell requires a saving throw, it instead triggers only if your attack hits—no save.
Scope of the Eagle Eye
While looking through the rifle’s rune-etched scope:
-
You can see up to 1 mile away with perfect clarity.
-
You have advantage on Perception checks relying on sight.
-
Attacks at long range do not impose disadvantage.
-
You ignore half and three-quarters cover.
Stabilized Firing
If you do not move on your turn, your next firearm attack with the rifle this turn deals an additional:
+1d10 force damage
Silent Mana Discharge
You can expend a spell slot to silence the rifle’s firing mechanism:
-
1st level slot: Shots are silent for 10 minutes.
-
2nd level slot: Shots are silent and leave no muzzle flash.
-
3rd+ slot: Shots are silent, invisible, and cannot be detected by Detect Magic for the duration.
Overcharge Round (once per long rest)
You unleash a devastating mana-charged sniper shot.
As an action, make one firearm attack.
On hit, it deals:
2d10 piercing + 4d10 force damage, and the target must succeed on a Constitution save (DC = your spell save DC) or be stunned until the start of your next turn.
Your Intelligence modifier replaces Dexterity for attack and damage rolls with this rifle.
(This rifle can be used as a spellcasting focus)
An instrument of ranged precision, the Sniper Rifle can take shots from distant, nearly invisible ranges.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sighted. Attacking at long range with this weapon doesn’t impose Disadvantage on your attack rolls. When you hit a creature with an attack using this weapon at long range, you can reroll any of the damage dice and must use the new roll.
Notes: Replace Damage Type: Piercing, Artificer, Combat, Ammunition, Heavy, Loading, Two-Handed, Firearm, Sighted
