Wondrous Item (Artifact – Anchor), Requires Attunement
Original Form: A simple leather satchel from the real world.
Current Form: A weathered leatherbound bag stitched with faint runic thread. The inside feels impossibly deep, and when objects are placed within, they disappear into a silent pocket of folded space.
Anchor Nature: Storage, preservation, spatial stability.
Dormant (Levels 1–2)
Extradimensional Storage
The bag functions exactly as a Bag of Holding.
Capacity: 500 lbs
Volume: 64 cubic feet
Retrieving an item requires an action.
If overloaded or pierced, it behaves exactly like a normal Bag of Holding.
Spatial Awareness
You always know whether a specific item is inside the bag.
Awakened (Levels 3–5)
The runic stitching occasionally glows when items are placed inside.
Quick Retrieval (2/Long Rest)
You may retrieve an item from the bag as a bonus action instead of an action.
Organized Space
Searching the bag for a specific item never requires time. You always pull out exactly what you intended.
Evolved (Levels 6–10)
The interior of the bag feels strangely calm and silent.
Preserved Storage
Nonliving items stored in the bag do not decay, rust, or spoil.
Food, alchemical materials, and organic items remain preserved.
Emergency Stow (1/Long Rest)
As a reaction, you may store an object you are holding or touching into the bag.
Examples:
Catch a falling artifact
Hide something instantly
Prevent an enemy from grabbing an item
The object must weigh 50 lbs or less.
Ascendant (Level 11+)
The bag’s interior becomes a stable pocket of quiet space.
Dimensional Cache (1/Long Rest)
As an action, you may open the bag and create a 5-foot portal to its extradimensional space for 1 minute.
During this time:
Creatures may place or retrieve items as a free interaction
Large objects (up to 10 ft) can be stored temporarily
When the portal closes, all items remain stored normally
This ability was originally used by ancient couriers transporting large artifacts.
If the Anchor Is Lost
The bag collapses inward briefly before stabilizing, spilling its contents harmlessly into the nearest open space.
