Alacrity is the sword belonging to the Mordecai lineage. Scholars suggest it may be a shapechanging blade, perhaps even sentient, as earlier depictions of Alacrity appear to show a scimitar, a greataxe, and even a lance.
You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
While attuned to Alacrity, creatures you hit become Adapted. An 8-handled wheel in the centre clicks once to the right, and you gain the following benefits:
- Any weaknesses of the Adapted creature are revealed to you. If it has no weaknesses, it takes an additional 1d8 damage on each weapon attack with Alacrity until the next dawn.
- As a reaction when the Adapted creature makes an attack against you, the wheel clicks again, halving the damage taken from one attack from it.
Record the amount of 'clicks' you gain from either hitting the Adapted creature and from each attack dealt to you. If your attacks get to 8 'clicks', you instead deal an additional 3d8 damage on each weapon attack until the next dawn. If damage from a single feature gets to 8 'clicks', you become immune to that feature until the next dawn.
Each member of the Mordecai lineage gets different features when they inherit Alacrity. This statblock details Alacrity's abilities under the ownership of Berhanu Mordecai.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, member of the Mordecai lineage, Versatile, Sap
