These shells are smelted using Luminaries, Forging high carbon steel to alloy making plating that is as light as it is strong and has unparalleled thermal conductivity paired with details of a hauntingly beautiful Ghost Wood trim and grips procured directly from the barrens. The moment this weapon fires it creats and deafening hiss of white noise mixed with a low toned hum you feel more than you hear.
It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
