Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement by a The player character must eat the fruit to obtain its abilities.)

Hito Hito nomi

Mobel: Nika

The Hito Devil Fruit is a mythical Devil Fruit that first grants the user a rubber-like body. This makes them 25% resistant to electricity and bludgeoning damage. Alongside this, their limbs can now stretch an additional 5 feet. Note that all attacks made with the fruit must be rolled to your unarmed strike dice, being either Str or Dex, whichever is highest.

Special awakening:

This fruit has 5 modes (including the base form) that the user can awaken to have access to more play options. Although each mode must be unlocked in chronological order.

About

The Hito Devil Fruit appears when the world yearns for freedom, as the fruit contains the soul of the Sun God Nika (aka the Warrior of Liberation).

Price: 40,000 gp

In-game RP:

The user must be good or neutral and be a kind-hearted person who constantly puts their life on the line for others in order to awaken the different modes of the fruit mentioned before. And the player must stay consistent with their actions, as the fruit will deem you unworthy and can and will (if the DM chooses) remove an awakening stage. You are a beacon of hope and freedom to those around you and those who may have only heard your stories. The fruit does not spoil even when left out for week on end.

Gameplay:

There are 5 Gears that can be unlocked

Gear 1:

Upon eating the fruit, the user is granted a rubber-like body. This makes you 25% resistant to electricity and bludgeoning damage. Alongside this, their limbs can now stretch an additional 5 feet.

Gear 2:

Your base movement speed is +10 and also grants you the feat charger for the duration.

Gear 3:

Your limbs can now be enlarged. In combat, if you land a hit on a creature with an unarmed strike, you have the option to enlarge the limb being used to add a number of extra d8s based on your PB. Although after using this, you will be paralyzed for the rest of the round, with all enemies having advantage on you.

Gear 4:

Gear 4 is where you get to have more options for yourself in combat. You can go for speed, defense, or a balance of the two.

Gear 4 speed:

You get a +20 to your movement speed at the sacrifice of ΒΌ  of your AC. You also get the mobile feat. The disengage action now becomes a bonus action as many times as equal to your PB+2. On top of this, you gain an additional 10 feet of reach with unarmed strikes with a damage falloff past 20 feet by 2d4 for each additional 5 feet.

Gear 4 tank:

You get a +4 to your AC at the cost of Β½ of your movement speed, along with the feat crusher. In this form, your PC is now considered large. For every missed attack made by a creature on you, you gain temporary HP equal to half of the missed damage +your con mod.

Gear 4 Yin and Yang:

This form grants you a +2 AC and +10 movement speed. You also get the feat lucky. This form has no additional buffs or features beyond access to an attack option tree called Kong. You use Kong attacks with Kong points. You get a number of Kong points equal to 4 +PB. In the Kong tree, each attack takes a number of Kong points to use.

Gear 5:

You have reached your peak, and you now have a +3 AC and +15 movement speed along with the feat Soul of the Storm Giant. You also have access to the Kong tree and points, just like Yin and Yang, with a few additions. And now you have a passive ability where a 30-foot area around you becomes rubber-like, making it difficult terrain to all enemies on the ground, and you also get the cantrip mold earth. All rubberized terrain can be manipulated with mold earth, but once the manipulated object leaves the 30-foot area, it reverts to its normal state.

Awakenings:

Your awakenings can only give you bonus stats for the duration of the form. Although you can use the second and third gears in base form once you reach Gear 4. In Gear 5 and all Gear 4’s transformations, Gears 1-3 are passive. Meaning that all effects from Gears 1-3 are stacked onto Gear 4 and 5. For example, if you choose gear 4 (speed), the extra speed from Gear 2 is added to it. Note that all extra feats, spells, and boosts go away after you detransform. Also note that spellcasting is disabled in all Gear 4 and Gear 5 transformations unless it comes directly from the transformation itself, and is re-enabled after detransformation.

Durations and debuffs:

Each Gear has its own benefits and faults. Every Gear passed Gear 2 provides a debuff after usage. Although Gear 3 debuff no longer paralyzes you once you reach Gear 4. You can have Gear 2 active twice for 4 minutes, with a 1-day cooldown. Although after reaching gear 4, it can be used freely with no limits. Gears 1-3 can be used throughout the day, while Gear 4 and Gear 5 are limited and carry significant consequences. Gear 4 can only be used once a day for 10 minutes, and upon detransforming, the player becomes paralyzed for 1 hour.  Gear 5 can only be used once every 2 days for 10 minutes, and upon detransforming, the user is unconscious for 5 hours. Note that you cannot go into Gear 5 while in Gear 4 and vice versa.
