This arrow was specifically created for Herman E.G. Ranger and his battle mongoose, Ron.
The Arrow of Ron Mongoose is a magic weapon able to send a small pet, creature, or familiar (under 15 lbs.) up to 30 feet, one time per day by means of binding it into the arrows shaft with a magic word or phrase unique to the creature’s name, phylum, or characteristic. The word or phrase must be uttered out loud as part of the phrase “Herman E.G. Ranger says time to fly Ron (name, phylum, or characteristic)”.
Roll standard attack of 1d20 to determine accuracy to hit at exact location selected.
The bound creature will release from the arrows shaft after hitting its target, or traveling 30 feet, whichever occurs first. Upon release from the arrow the small pet, creature, or familiar is subject to gravity and the conditions of its surroundings. Once free, it will follow its normal course of action, or as it normally would respond to any instructions provided before being bound to the arrow. Upon release of the small pet, creature, or familiar the arrow will return to the quiver from which it was withdrawn.
If the arrow is placed back into the quiver with the small pet, creature, or familiar still bound within, the small pet, creature, or familiar immediately becomes unbound, which may be very uncomfortable for everyone involved.
If the arrow is broken while the small pet, creature, or familiar is still bound within, the small pet, creature, or familiar will be released to a random location within 30 feet.
If the arrow is discharged without an animal bound it will fly like the very dull and weighty arrow it is, with a -5 to hit, max crit damage of 1d2 (if within 30 feet), greatly annoys the target, and will not automatically return to the quiver.
