Wondrous Item, rare
A diamond pendant set in a thin band of pale gold, worn smooth at the edges from decades of careful hands. The stone does not catch light so much as hold it — a faint warmth lives inside it that has nothing to do with the sun. It was her mother's, and her mother's mother's before that, passed down through the women of the bloodline who carried the fire and knew what it cost.
Lyris wore it at her wedding. She was wearing it when the sky went dark. She has not taken it off since.
