By holding this quill, you've proven that you listen to your surroundings. You take note of the magic used by those around you, taking care to scrawl down the minute details of how each caster wields their magic. Any spell you physically see be cast can be added to your spell book. You can only study one spell at a time, as you try to carefully recount how the spell works. Writing a spell down mid combat is a reaction, and you must wait until the start of your turn to complete your notes and use the spell. Casting the spell will take the same amount of time as it normally takes, as you follow the steps. During battle, if you use a spell written in your book with this quill, half your movement- hard to move with a book in your face!
