A monstrous black road-bike of steel, bone, and essence-work, the Ashfang Roadreaver is built from salvaged machine parts, harvested monster plating, and a fire-bound quintessence engine. Its forward fairing is shaped like a predatory skull, while its runed core-chamber burns with a banked orange glow. Designed for speed, endurance, and the brutal practicality of hunters who must cross dead lands quickly, Ashfang carries both rider and arsenal into the wastes.
Its saddlebags are stitched from treated hide and reinforced with dimensional binding, allowing it to bear far more than its frame should permit.
Personality
The Ashfang Roadreaver is fierce, prideful, and thrill-seeking. It delights in speed, heat, and the chase, and tends to view caution as a flaw in lesser beings. Though loyal to its rider, it is not passive, and its telepathic voice often urges aggression, daring, or dramatic entrances when subtler options exist.
This is a sentient bound magical item with Intelligence of 14, Wisdom 12, and Charisma 16. This item may only be removed from attunment by a Wish spell.
Fuel
The Ashfang Roadreaver is powered by Fire Quintessence, consuming 1 Fire Quintessence per hour of continuous operation.
If the final unit of fuel is expended, the bike continues to run for 1 minute before the engine dies, giving the rider a brief window to stop safely or do something extremely irresponsible.
Speed
The Ashfang Roadreaver has a top speed of 45 miles per hour. If used in combat it has a movement speed of 90ft.
Saddlebags of the Soldier
The Roadreaver’s paired saddlebags function as a Bag of Holding, except they are divided between two matched side-compartments.
Together, the saddlebags:
- hold up to 500 pounds, not exceeding a total volume of 64 cubic feet
- always weigh a combined 15 pounds, regardless of contents
- can store firearms, ammunition, tools, harvested parts, and similar gear with unnerving efficiency
Placing one extradimensional storage item inside the saddlebags causes the usual catastrophic interaction.
Hunter’s Configuration
The Saddlebags of the Soldier contains a special configuration for the following:
- up to 2 long firearms
- up to 2 one-handed firearms
Upon command, Ashfang can launch one of these weapons into the air and towards its bond, up to a range of 1 mile if outdoors, in unerring accuracy that allow the character to catch and use the weapon in a single motion.
Durability
The Ashfang Roadreaver is considered a magical vehicle or object. Suggested baseline statistics:
- AC: 17
- Hit Points: 60
- Damage Threshold: 5
It is immune to poison and psychic damage.
If reduced to 0 hit points, the Roadreaver becomes inoperable but is not permanently destroyed unless through divine intervention or other cosmic power; its bound nature allows recovery over time at a rate of 10 hit points per day.
Bronze Awakening — Helltrack Ignition
The Ashfang Roadreaver’s bound fire quintessence surges into its wheels, turning speed into punishment.
Once per day, as a Bonus Action while mounted on the Ashfang Roadreaver, you may ignite its tires for 1 minute. For the duration, the bike leaves behind a 5-foot-wide trail of supernatural flame in the spaces it moves through. This trail lasts until the start of your next turn.
A creature that enters the flaming trail for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 4d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
