Emberheart — Wondrous item, (requires attunement by a sorcerer) "His name is forgotten. His flame is not." A dark red crystal burns at the center of this pendant, swirling with smoldering magic. It hangs from a blackened mithril chain.
Ember Surge: Once per long rest, when you cast a spell that deals fire damage, you may choose to have that spell deal maximum damage to a single target of your choice, instead of rolling.
Born in Fire: While attuned to Emberheart, you have resistance to fire damage.
The pendant itself cannot be destroyed by fire, mundane or magical. The Emberheart was forged in the twilight days of the Old World, during the final century before the Cataclysm. Its maker, an unnamed elven sorcerer, sought to preserve a spark of the Primordial Flame—the raw elemental fire said to burn beneath the surface of the world. When the skies broke and Shadowstar was torn from its place in the multiverse, the sorcerer vanished—some say consumed by his own power, others say transformed into a spirit of living fire. But the Emberheart endured, its smoldering core pulsing still with memory. Some believe the Emberheart is not just a relic, but a seed—waiting to kindle the return of its creator’s legacy.
