This jagged, black mandible was torn from the maw of Big Betty, the monstrous spider that once stalked the caverns of Silverpeak Mountain, where countless hobgoblins and humans have met their end in her grasp. Thick as a dagger and sparsely covered with hair, it still glistens with traces of venom held deep within its hollow channels. Even severed from the beast, it carries an unsettling weight and a faint, acrid scent that warns of its deadly purpose.
You can use the poison in this mandible to coat one slashing or piercing weapon or up to three pieces of ammunition. Applying the poison takes an action and costs one charge. Once applied, the poison retains potency for 1 minute before drying. A creature hit by the poisoned weapon or ammunition must make a DC 11 Constitution saving throw, taking 9 (2d8) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the poison damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, the target is stable but poisoned for 1 hour, even after regaining hit points, and is paralysed while poisoned in this way.
