Angdrelve, also known as Wave of Sorrow, whose wavy, razor-edged blade drips acid on command. Favored weapon of Grazz't.
When commanded the sword begins to drip acid and does an additional 14 (4d6) acid damage on hit.
Poison Attuned: While attuned to Angdrelve, you have immunity to poison damage and the poisoned condition.
Angdrelve can only be shattered by a celestial being using a celestial forged hammer on a non-material plane of existance.
Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
Notes: Damage: Acid, Immunity: Poison, Immunity: Poisoned, Damage, Buff, Negation, Combat, Heavy, Two-Handed, Graze

Posted May 19, 2026I had to create my own version, because nobody seems to get it right. The weapon in 5.5e used by Grazz't himself does not grant him a +hit/damage. People are too quick to give a weapon these bonuses, and it is not needed by the time you can actually acquire this weapon.
Again, looking at Grazz't we can also see that he is able to pretty much teleport at will, which means he's not getting it from the weapon. And he has no acid resistance or immunity, which means unlike a flame tongue, the extra damage should NOT be offering extra resistances. He is immune to poison effects though, and while this could be in his nature, it seemed like a fine thing to give players as an added bonus for the sword.
I did not want the sword to be sentient so that's pretty much were we stopped. Weapons used by monsters are given a higher base damage to account for their CR.. but on a player the base damage should remain 2d6 for a greatsword.. NOT 4d6. However the added acid damage was maintained.
Given how special the sword is, I figured it probably has unique destruction requirements, so I inserted a polar opposite requirement to destroy vs its creation. My players are level 17 and will probably be fighting Grazz't soon, and this is much more in line with what this sword SHOULD be, and what I would be fine with them using.
A fighter with GWM on this weapon - beating on a paralyzed victim - will be doing 12d6+mods per strike already with this.. callin' it good.
Also, this sword is beautiful in the new artworks.. I'm surprised an artist hasn't beautifully rendered it by itself or on a display.. or forged it, for that matter.
