The Aegisthorn Parasol is an elegant black-and-gold parasol mounted upon a reinforced silverwood staff. Veins of violet crystal pulse beneath the lacquered frame, while hidden injector mechanisms line the handle and shaft. When opened, the canopy shimmers with layered alchemical silk capable of deflecting both steel and spellfire.
The Aegisthorn Parasol functions as:
- A Quarterstaff
- An Arcane Firearm
- Alchemist’s Supplies
- A Spellcasting Focus
Spells cast through the parasol count as being cast using Alchemist’s Supplies for features such as Alchemical Savant.
Defensive Canopy
When you are hit by an attack while holding the parasol, you may use your reaction to unfurl the canopy.
Until the start of your next turn:
- You gain a +3 bonus to AC
- You gain resistance to ranged weapon damage
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum once per long rest).
Bulwark Step
Immediately after casting a spell that restores hit points to a creature, you may move up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.
Thornburst Injection
When you cast a spell that restores hit points to a creature within 5 feet of you, choose one effect:
- Vital Surge: The target gains temporary hit points equal to your Intelligence modifier + proficiency bonus.
- Adrenal Bloom: The target may immediately move up to half its speed without provoking opportunity attacks.
- Stabilizing Compound: The target may immediately end either the Poisoned or Frightened condition.
You may use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Emergency Barrier
Once per long rest, when a creature within 30 feet would be reduced to 0 hit points, you may use your reaction to deploy a spectral canopy.
That creature instead drops to 1 hit point, gains temporary hit points equal to your artificer level, and gains half cover until the start of your next turn.
Notes: Expertise: Alchemist's Supplies, Requires attunement by an artificer, or by a spellcaster proficient with Alchemist’s Supplies. During attunement, the wielder must prepare and inject a custom alchemical compound into the parasol’s crystalline core.
