Wondrous Item, rare (requires attunement)

This large ornate brass gear is about as big as a small plate and when spun, produces the sound of gears and mechanisms clicking and rotating, even if only spun around a finger. While holding the gear, you may take a Magic Action to affix the gear magically to a Simple or Martial weapon, where the gear will stay affixed until it is either removed as a Magic Action, or the weapon is destroyed. While the Acceleraise Gear is affixed to a nonmagical weapon, that weapon is treated as a +2 Magic Weapon.

Clockspinning.  While attuned to the gear, you gain the following benefits.

Accelerate. When you attack a creature with the weapon that the gear is attached to, you can spin the gear clockwise to cast Haste from the gear. You can't use this property again until 24 hours have passed.

Decelerate. When you attack a creature with the weapon the gear is attached to, or when a creature within 5 feet makes an attack against you or another creature you can see, you can take a Reaction and spin the gear counterclockwise and cast Slow from the gear against that creature. You can't use this property again until 24 hours have passed.

Overclock. When you take the Magic Action to cast a spell using a spell slot or spell scroll that has a casting time greater than one action, you can spin the gear aggressively to shorten the casting time of that spell to one action. When you use this property, roll a D10, and on a 1, the gear shatters from the strain and becomes useless and cannot be repaired. You can't use this property again until 48 hours have passed.
