Arcane Core

This dense sphere of arcane energy is suspended within a framework of interlocking golden rings etched with ancient Netherese runes. Blue-green light pulses beneath its surface like distant lightning trapped within glass. Though no larger than a grapefruit, the core weighs nearly 40 pounds.

Arcane Cores were used throughout Netherese enclaves to power constructs, magical defenses, and other arcane systems. Though far less powerful than a mythallar, these devices were prized for their stability and longevity. While mostly dormant now, an Arcane Core still contains enough residual power to activate certain ancient mechanisms or serve as a potent component in the crafting of magical items.
