Weapon (dagger), legendary (requires attunement by a person who has awoken the Forge Demon in the first circle of hell.)

A dagger made of an unknown, black material that almost seems alive thanks to the pulsating, deep red veins running through the blade.
The handguard is of a demonic design, with a socket to inlay a runestone.

A tiny fragment of the Forge Demon's power has been forged into this dagger, giving it unique powers:

  • Forge Demon's Hunger: The dagger consumes the soul of all it slays. Consuming a soul causes the user to take 1d4 psychic damage. For every soul taken, it's damage increases by 1d4, with a max. 5 souls. Though uncomfortable or even painful at first, the feeling of taking a soul has an addictive effect on it's user.
  • Souls for the Forge: In exchange for sacrificing a soul to the Forge Demon, it restores it's users body. Heal for 1d8 + WIS per soul released (max. 3/long rest).
  • Metal Corruption: While at least 3 souls are stored: When attacking a target that is wearing chainmail, scalemail or plate-armor, the target must succeed on a DC12 DEX Save. On fail, the armor gains a level of "Metal Corruption". Each level decreases the targets AC by 1. When a target reaches 5 levels of "Metal Corruption", it must roll 1D20:
    • 1: The targets armor is completely consumed by the forge demon.
    • 2-5: The targets chest-piece is consumed by the forge demon. Allows weakspot attacks without disadvantage.
    • 6-9: The targets helmet is consumed by the forge demon. Allows weakspot attacks.
    • 10-14: One of the targets arm-pieces is consumed by the forge demon. Allows weakspot attacks.
    • 15-19: One of the targets leg-pieces is consumed by the forge demon. Allows weakspot attacks.
    • 20: The targets AC is further reduced by 1
  • Demon's Tongue: While equipped, this dagger grants it's user fluency in the Abyssal language

Curse: You're unwilling to part with this dagger while attuned to it and you wear it always. Only the Remove Curse spell allows you to remove the item and end attunement.

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
