Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement by a Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard)

This opulent tome is bound in immaculate white leather, cool to the touch and faintly shimmering like moonlit silk. Delicate gold filigree curls along its edges, tracing patterns reminiscent of starlit constellations. Set into the center of the cover is a radiant celestial emblem: a golden crescent moon cradling a rising sun, both surrounded by swirling cosmic clouds etched with impossible detail. When the book is opened, faint motes of dream-light drift from between the pages.

While you are attuned to the tome, you may use it as a spellcasting focus. Its presence sharpens the mind, anchors the will, and allows a skilled mage to shape both dream and nightmare. You gain a +2 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your spells.

  • Dreambound Grimoire: You can use this tome as your spellbook. When you use your Arcane Recovery feature, the tome channels dream-essence into your magic; you regain 1 additional spell slot level.
In Addition, whenever you finish a short rest, you may replace one wizard spell you have prepared with another wizard spell contained in the tome.
  • Aegis of the Dreamwalker: The celestial seal on the cover flares gently when danger approaches, surrounding you with a barely visible veil of starlit mist. If you aren’t wearing armor, your base Armor Class becomes 14 + your Dexterity modifier. In addition, you have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.
  • Arcane Reverie: Visions of forgotten spells drift through your mind while you sleep with the tome nearby. You can learn one extra spell each time you gain a wizard level. These dream-spells fade from memory if you unattune from the tome.

The seal on the cover opens like a waking eye. The crescent moon burns gold. The dark sun fills with stars. And for the first time, you understand: the tome was not waiting for someone powerful enough to command it. It was waiting for someone careful enough to define the difference between a dream and a prison.

  • Lucid Step: Immediately after you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
  • Scholar of the Veil: You gain proficiency in Arcana. If you are already proficient in Arcana, you instead gain expertise in Arcana.

Notes: Set: Unarmored Armor Class, Bonus: Spell Save DC, Bonus: Spell Attacks, Advantage: Charmed and Frightened Saving Throws, Expertise: Arcana, Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard, Buff, Warding, Outerwear
