Armor (shield), legendary

This sleek, high-tech bracer is forged from polished mithral and adamantine, etched with glowing blue arcane circuits and set with crystalline emitters. When worn, it activates with a low hum and projects a circular disk of translucent, shimmering force energy that orbits protectively around your forearm and upper body. The disk functions in every way as a shield but requires no hand to wield, allowing you to benefit from it even while both hands are occupied (two-handed weapons, somatic spellcasting, grappling, etc.).

While you wear the Aegis Projector:

  • You gain proficiency with shields.
  • The projected energy disk grants you a +4 bonus to your Armor Class. This counts as a shield bonus.
  • You have immunity to force damage.
  • You have resistance to radiant damage and necrotic damage.

Reactive Augmentation

When a creature you can see makes an attack roll against you, you can use your reaction to cause the energy disk to flare with power. Until the end of your next turn, you gain an additional +6 bonus to your Armor Class. This bonus stacks with the bracer’s normal +4 AC bonus.

While this effect is active, you are also protected from magic missile and similar effects that create unerring or automatically hitting force projectiles (as if under the effects of the shield spell, but with the extended duration).

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.

Notes: Bonus: Armor Class, Proficiency: Shields, Immunity: Force, Resistance: Necrotic, Resistance: Radiant, Combat, Warding, Armor
