A spear broken into three segments and held together with a thin chain that runs through the middle of the pole. The spear offers different benefits depending on how it is configured.
Configuration 1 - Wrist Blade: the segments are split with interior chain running between them. The bladed end is attached to the wrist of the dominant hand, the middle section is fixed to the shoulder blade/back area, and butt end is attached to the wrist of the non-dominant hand with the excess chain wrapped around that same forearm. In this configuration the following stats apply to the spear:
+1 to ac
Versatile
Range: melee
(STR or DEX)+3 to hit
2d6 piercing or slashing damage
Configuration 2 - Blade Whip: Essentially the same as 1, but the blade is loosened from it's place on the pole and hangs by the chain. Excess chain is loosened from and controlled by the non-dominant hand. In this configuration the following stats apply to the spear:
Finesse
Range: 15 ft
(DEX)+3 to hit
3d4 piercing or slashing damage
Configuration 3 - Full Spear: The pieces of the spear are pulled together and fastened into a full length greatspear (generally 5 ft plus the blade). The excess chain is either wrapped around the wrist or held loose so the spear can function as a harpoon. In this configuration the following stats apply to the spear:
Heavy
Range: 5 ft melee, 15 ft thrown (recoverable), 35 ft thrown (unrecoverable)
(STR)+3
2d6+3 piercing, slashing, or bludgeoning damage
Configuring the spear takes a full action.
