Blinding Forethought, like its sister Altiliums, is a powerful ring crafted from a base of Nightstone along with seven other components, each representing one of the eight schools of magic. The ring acts as a magical battery, siphoning a tiny amount of magic every time a spell is cast in the nearby vicinity and storing it in the ring. This allows the ring to act as a source of magic when other sources fail, allowing the wearer to act without be affected by spell failure. This can even power potions, scrolls, and magic items, as long as they are being used by the altilium's wearer. Only one altilitum can be worn by a single person, otherwise they may interfere with each other.
In addition, Blinding Forethought has had two components emphasized in its crafting, each emphasized component grants additional effects:
- Red Dragon Scale [Evocation] = You gain resistance to the following damage type: Lightning
- Beholder Eye Stalk [Divination] = Once per day, you may re-roll one single ability check, attack roll, or saving throw
