When an attacker that you can see hits you with a success ful nonmagical ranged attack and you have this sword in hand, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack. An arrowbane blade is not considered magical for the purposes of overcoming damage resistance.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
