The Amulet of the Woods, is an amulet with an onyx gem in the center. The golden shadow of a wolf resides inside of the gem, and holds a spirit animal inside of it. If you use a bonus action to speak the animals name and it has bonded with you, your shadow forms into the animal at a point on the ground within 10 feet of you. If the space where the creature would appear is occupied by other creatures or objects, or if there isn't enough space for the creature, it doesn’t appear.
The creature is friendly to you and your companions. When attuned to the item, it understands your languages and has a telepathic bond with you. It obeys your spoken or mental commands, and rolls it’s own initiative like any other creature. If you issue no commands, the creature defends itself but takes no other actions.
Once called back to the amulet, the creature reverts to the gem in the center of the amulet and back to the feywild. It reverts to the gem early if it drops to 0 hit points or if you use a bonus action to speak it’s name again while touching the gem. It also reverts to the gem if it spends more than 18 hours out of it. When the creature becomes the gem again, it exists both in this realm and in the feywild. It’s form can be seen occasionally in the shadow of amulet’s holder, as it sometimes peaks in to see whats going on.
Onyx Wolf. This amulet channels the feywild and can become a Dire Wolf spirit animal for up to 18 hours. The Dire Wolf spirit animal has an Intelligence of 8 and can speak Common. It also has darkvision out to a range of 60 feet and can see invisible creatures and objects within that range. The Dire Wolf has a special ability, used to defend it’s territory. The spirit animal must spend at least 6 hours a day recharging in the feywild.
Guardian Howl: As an action the spirit wolf lets out a deafening howl, imparting advantage on the next attack or ability check, to all allies within 60 feet. This effect lasts 1 minute, and can not be done again until after a long rest.
