An ancient dwarf obsessed with forging the perfect weapon, Rathkiln created hundreds of instruments of war, some ranging from hardly dangerous to an infant to nationally devastating. One of the most common weapons Rathkiln would produce were twin sets of battleaxes, forged from an extremely dense and heavy material found in his home mountains and sharpened to a near perfect edge. Legend says that these weapons individually weighed twice that of a war horse and would be incredibly impractical in battle, if not for the enchantment cast into the metal itself. When a creature bonds with these twin axes, not only do they lose weight in their master's hands, they also become light enough to wield both at once with no hindrances to the wielder. Still, Rathkiln considered these marvels of his forged a failure, not good enough to be called perfect.
When not attuned to one of these twin axes, you must pass a DC 15 Strength check to pick it up. Any attacks made with the unattuned battleaxe are made at disadvantage.
When attuned to one of Rathkin's axes, it loses its extreme weight, allowing the wielder to wield it with ease, functioning as a +1 weapon. Creatures not attuned to the battleaxe are still required to pass a DC 15 Strength check to pick it up. You also know the general direction of where the other battleaxe in the set is, if it is in the same plane of existence.
When attuned to both battleaxes in the set, they both function as +2 weapons and gain the light property. As long as you have one of the attuned battleaxes on you, you know the exact location of the other as long as it is on the same plane of existence as you.
Proficiency with a Battleaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
Notes: Weapon Property: Light, 14 in Strength, Versatile, Topple
