Anton's Typographer

​Anton Cobrefino crafted this magnificent typographer for his grandson, Astafadouro "Asta" Cobrefino. Only Asta can use this item, and any attempt by another creature to do so fails automatically. This restriction can only be altered or removed by a Wish Spell.  

​As a Magic action, you can use this item as any tool of your choice. You gain proficiency with the chosen tool until you change the tool type or dismiss this effect.  

​Whenever you finish a long rest, choose two combat cantrips you know: one with a maximum range of 5 feet and one ranged cantrip. While holding this item, you can replicate either chosen cantrip, using its original casting mechanics, range, and damage scaling based on your character level. When making the attack roll for a replicated cantrip, you can choose to replace its damage type with bludgeoning damage. Alternatively, when selecting the cantrips at the end of a long rest, you can alter their elemental matrix to change their damage type to acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, or thunder. If you do so, the cantrip loses all secondary effects and riders; it deals only the chosen damage type, losing properties such as the speed reduction of ray of frost or the reaction denial of shocking grasp.
