.50 WRAITH Anti-Materiel Cartridge
Ammunition (Firearm), Very Rare
Massive, precision-machined cartridges developed for the WRAITH-Pattern "Goliath" Hand Cannon. Each round contains a high-density penetrator and a magnetically stabilized propellant charge capable of launching the projectile with enough force to pierce heavy armor and fortified positions. The ammunition is expensive, difficult to manufacture, and nearly impossible to find outside remnants of advanced civilizations.
| Ammunition | Cost | Weight | Properties |
|---|---|---|---|
| .50 WRAITH Cartridge (1) | 50 gp | ¼ lb. | Consumable, Anti-Materiel, Specialized |
| .50 WRAITH Cartridge (Box of 3) | 150 gp | ¾ lb. | Consumable |
Properties
Consumable
Each cartridge is destroyed when fired.
Anti-Materiel
When fired from a compatible weapon, the cartridge ignores resistance to nonmagical piercing damage dealt to objects and structures. Damage against unattended objects and structures is doubled.
Specialized
These cartridges can only be fired from firearms specifically chambered for .50 WRAITH ammunition, such as the WRAITH-Pattern "Goliath" Hand Cannon. Attempting to fire them from an incompatible firearm automatically causes the weapon to jam or fail, at the DM's discretion.
Ammunition Variants
Armor-Piercing (AP)
Ammunition (Firearm), Very Rare
A hardened tungsten-core projectile designed to penetrate heavy armor.
Effect.
When you hit a creature wearing armor or wielding a shield, reduce its AC by 2 against that attack only. This reduction cannot lower the target's AC below 10.
Cost: 75 gp per cartridge
High-Explosive (HE)
Ammunition (Firearm), Very Rare
A shell that detonates moments after impact.
Effect.
On a hit, the target takes the weapon's normal damage. Each creature within 5 feet of the target must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.
Objects and structures automatically fail this saving throw.
Cost: 100 gp per cartridge
Incendiary
Ammunition (Firearm), Rare
A phosphorus-filled round that erupts into flame on impact.
Effect.
On a hit, the target takes an additional 1d6 fire damage. At the start of its next turn, it takes another 1d6 fire damage unless it or another creature uses an action to extinguish the flames.
Cost: 80 gp per cartridge
Arcane Disruptor
Ammunition (Firearm), Very Rare
A cartridge lined with crystalline conductors that interfere with magical energies.
Effect.
If the target is concentrating on a spell, it has disadvantage on the Constitution saving throw made to maintain concentration. In addition, magical barriers such as wall of force or arcane lock take double damage from this ammunition if your DM allows objects or magical effects to have hit points.
Cost: 120 gp per cartridge
EMP Pulse Round
Ammunition (Firearm), Legendary
An experimental cartridge containing an unstable pulse generator that disrupts constructs and magical machinery.
Effect.
On a hit, constructs and creatures with significant mechanical components take an additional 2d8 lightning damage and must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn.
Nonmagical electronic or mechanical devices within 10 feet of the impact point cease functioning for 1 minute, unless repaired or restarted.
Cost: 250 gp per cartridge
Match-Grade Precision
Ammunition (Firearm), Rare
Handcrafted for exceptional accuracy rather than raw destructive power.
Effect.
You gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls made with this ammunition. On a critical hit, you roll one additional weapon damage die.
Cost: 70 gp per cartridge
Crafting Requirements
Crafting a .50 WRAITH cartridge typically requires:
- Smith's Tools or Tinker's Tools proficiency
- Alchemist's Supplies (for propellant compounds)
- 8 hours of work for every 10 cartridges
- Half the market value in raw materials
Specialized variants (such as High-Explosive or EMP Pulse) may also require rare alchemical reagents, monster components, or arcane crystals at the DM's discretion, making them prized resources rather than commonplace ammunition.
