Requiem State
While the cross controls the cleric’s body, the body gains the following benefits:
The body immediately regains hit points equal to the cleric’s hit point maximum.
The body gains 100 temporary hit points.
The body gains a flying speed of 60 feet and can hover.
The body has resistance to all damage.
The body is immune to necrotic damage, radiant damage, poison damage, exhaustion, the poisoned condition, the frightened condition, the charmed condition, and possession.
The body cannot be knocked prone, paralyzed, stunned, restrained, or magically put to sleep.
The body has truesight out to 120 feet.
The body can understand all languages and can be understood by any creature that has a soul.
The body does not require verbal, somatic, or material components for cleric spells, unless the material component has a listed gold cost.
The body has advantage on all saving throws.
Attack rolls against the body have disadvantage.
Requiem Spellcasting
During the Requiem State, the cross may cast the cleric’s prepared cleric spells without expending spell slots.
A spell cast this way is always cast at its lowest level unless empowered by the feature below.
The cross may cast one spell of 5th level or lower on each of its turns without using spell slots.
The cross may cast one spell of 6th level or higher only once per round.
The cross does not require concentration. If it casts a concentration spell, the spell lasts for its full duration, up to the end of the Requiem State.
Final Authority
During the Requiem State, the cross gains access to the following spells, even if the cleric did not have them prepared:
death ward
spirit guardians
banishment
harm
heal
forbiddance
power word stun
power word kill
The cross may cast power word kill once during the Requiem State without expending a spell slot.
When cast this way, power word kill can target a creature with 150 hit points or fewer instead of 100.
Once power word kill is cast this way, the cross cannot cast it again.
Grave Domain: Absolute Passage
If the cleric is a Grave Domain cleric, the Requiem State gains the following additional benefits:
The cross may use Path to the Grave once per round without expending Channel Divinity.
A creature marked by Path to the Grave during the Requiem State cannot regain hit points, cannot gain temporary hit points, and cannot benefit from features that prevent it from dropping to 0 hit points.
When a marked creature dies, its body cannot become undead, and its soul cannot be trapped, bound, consumed, or forced back into life.
Whenever the cross heals an ally during the Requiem State, that ally gains temporary hit points equal to the cleric’s level + the cleric’s Wisdom modifier.
Whenever the cross deals necrotic or radiant damage, it ignores resistance and treats immunity as resistance instead.
Requiem Aura
During the Requiem State, the body emits a 60-foot aura of golden deathly light.
Allies of the cleric inside the aura gain the following benefits:
They have advantage on death saving throws.
They cannot be frightened or possessed.
They cannot be turned into undead while inside the aura.
When they are healed, they regain additional hit points equal to the cleric’s Wisdom modifier.
Hostile creatures inside the aura suffer the following effects:
They cannot regain hit points unless they succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against the cleric’s spell save DC at the start of their turn.
Undead have disadvantage on saving throws against the cleric’s spells and features.
Creatures below half their hit point maximum take additional radiant or necrotic damage equal to the cleric’s Wisdom modifier the first time they take damage each round.
Last Command
When the Ten-Minute Requiem begins, the cleric may give the cross one final command of up to 25 words.
Examples:
“Protect them until the ritual is broken.”
“Destroy the lich and let no soul be taken.”
“Carry my friends out alive.”
“End this war before I pass.”
The cross follows this final command as faithfully as it can, unless doing so would directly betray the cleric’s core beliefs.
End of the Requiem
When the 10 minutes end, the cleric’s body falls still and the cross becomes inert for 1 year.
The cleric cannot be revived by revivify, raise dead, resurrection, true resurrection, wish, or similar magic.
Their soul passes beyond mortal reach.
The cross remembers them permanently.
From that point onward, any creature who attunes to the cross hears the cleric’s final command as a faint echo the first time they hold it.
Notes: This item is equipped and used when using the requiem ability of the Auric Cross, this item is used along side the other other and doesn't need attunement, (as its the same item).
