Wondrous Item, unknown rarity (requires attunement by a Requires Attunement by a Spellcaster)

CURSED. While this item is worn it cannot be removed without the curse being removed first. The holder gains the following traits and characteristics

"Six souls imprisoned. One voice should never become six." — Inscription engraved on the back of the pendant.

This ancient silver amulet houses the shattered soul of Vaelor, the Thousand Voices, an immortal lich who could not be destroyed. Thousands of years ago, six legendary heroes performed the Rite of Six Chains, sealing Vaelor's fractured spirit within this pendant after every attempt to destroy the lich ended in failure.

At the heart of the amulet rests a cracked sapphire crystal split by six glowing fractures. Each fracture represents one of the six personalities trapped within. Only one may speak at a time, and the crystal glows a different color depending on which personality has taken control.

The Six Voices

📚 The Scholar – A calm and brilliant archmage who offers historical knowledge, magical insight, and logical advice.

👑 The Tyrant – A ruthless conqueror who constantly urges the wearer toward domination, control, and absolute order.

🧸 The Child – An innocent soul who knows nothing but loneliness, treating the wearer as a trusted friend while unknowingly revealing ancient secrets.

🔮 The Mad Prophet – Speaks almost entirely in cryptic riddles and visions. Though impossible to understand at times, its warnings often prove true.

✝️ The Martyr – A gentle soul who believes eternal suffering is the price of protecting others. It encourages mercy and self-sacrifice above all else.

🎭 The Fool – A mischievous trickster who fills even the darkest moments with terrible jokes, harmless pranks, and unexpected wisdom hidden beneath humor.

Sentience

The Amulet of a Thousand Voices is a sentient item. The personalities argue constantly among themselves, though only the dominant voice can be heard by the wearer. The Dungeon Master determines which personality is active, or may roll 1d6 whenever the amulet speaks.

The personalities cannot speak deliberate falsehoods to the wearer, though each presents the truth through its own beliefs and desires.
