What it is:

A fist-sized, barbed iron hook on rotting cord. The metal is blackened, etched with wave-patterns that are not of the Thames.

Found:

Hooked through the jaw of a corpse dragged halfway into a flooded grave.

Story:

Said to have been used by northern fisher-priests who did not catch fish... but souls that would not sink. It does not release what it takes.

On a hit: 1d6 piercing + grapple (STR save to break)

While grappled: Target takes 1d4 necrotic at start of turn

Special:

If target dies while hooked advantage on next attack

Cost:

You feel a tug in your own chest when it lands

Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
