The Aurumscale Ward is an imposing tower shield made from the enchanted scales of a mighty gold dragon. The scales are seamlessly interwoven with golden filigree, creating a mesmerizing pattern that seems to shift as if the shield itself were alive. The dragon emblem on its surface, when activated in the presence of a dragon, pulses with a warm, protective light, casting intricate shadows on the surrounding surfaces.
Special Ability (Against Dragons): When facing a dragon's breath attack, the Wyrmguard Shield not only absorbs the energy but converts it into a protective aura - reduce the dragon's breath weapon damage by 4d10. The wielder and nearby allies within 10 feet gain resistance to the damage type of the dragon's breath attack for 1 minute. Additionally, the shield grants advantage on saving throws against a dragon's frightful presence.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
