Encased in a steel frame, this frigid maul carries a block of unmelting ice mined from the Everglacier. This magical site, imbued by the ruins of Aeor, hides within a dangerous and perpetual blizzard on the isle of Schneescel in Eiselcross.
You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. This magic weapon deals an extra 1d4 cold damage to any target it hits, or 2d4 if the target is prone. The maul grows colder with each strike it makes, which are represented with charges. Each time you hit a creature, it gains 1 charge, up to a maximum of 5. Up to 4 unused charges dissipate after a minute. After being charged 5 times, the maul must be discharged by hitting something and using either its Frostbitten or Avalanche ability.
Frostbitten. You can use a single charge to add "Frostbitten" to an attack. On a hit, the cold within the maul blasts forth upon the target, dealing 1d6 extra cold damage. The target must then make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failure, ice encrusts a part of the target's body, giving them disadvantage on the next weapon attack, and the target loses 10 feet of movement during the next turn.
Avalanche. If the maul has all 5 charges, you can slam it on the ground in place of one of your attacks, expending all its charges and releasing a pummeling wave of snow and ice in a 15-foot cone. Each target in the cone must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 3d6 bludgeoning damage and 3d6 cold damage and is pushed up to 10 feet away from you and knocked prone. Once this property has been used, the maul can't gain charges again until 10 minutes have passed.
Proficiency with a Maul allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Cold, character with a Strength score of 15 or above over a short rest, Damage, Combat, Heavy, Two-Handed, Topple
