Awakened Tidecaller Breastplate

A coral blue breastplate lined with golden markings, made of an unusual, but sturdy alloy. You can hear the sea when it is held to the ear, the remnants of a domain of the mighty Poseidon who this armour had once protected.

Awakened, the Tidecaller Breastplate moves like water, moulding itself into a perfectly fitted shape around its wearer. Water erodes almost everything eventually. Some things do not yield so easily. Recognising the greatest endurance among the party, the armour has chosen Diamond Netherclan as its rightful bearer.

The armour no longer requires its wearer to be wet to utilise its full potential.

Seaborn Resilience:

• You gain a swimming speed of 30 feet. If you already have a swimming speed, it increases by 30 feet.
• You gain an additional +3 bonus to AC while wearing this armour.

Tidal Veil: As a Bonus Action, choose up to four creatures other than yourself within 30 feet.

Each chosen creature gains a +1 bonus to AC until the end of your next turn.

Storm's Retort: Twice per encounter, when a creature you can see hits you with an attack, you may use your reaction to cast a spell of 3rd level or lower that deals lightning or thunder damage and normally has a casting time of one action, without expending a spell slot.

The spell can affect only the creature that triggered this reaction, even if it could normally target multiple creatures or affect an area. Any area or persistent effect created by the spell affects only that creature.

All normal range requirements and attack rolls or saving throws still apply.

Tidecaller’s Bond: While holding the Tidecaller Trident and wearing this armour, you have resistance to lightning and thunder damage.

This armor consists of a fitted metal chest piece worn with supple leather. Although it leaves the legs and arms relatively unprotected, this armor provides good protection for the wearer's vital organs while leaving the wearer relatively unencumbered.
