Carved from weather-cured swamp reed and ancient heartwood, the whistle has a flared, hourglass structure bound tightly at the top neck with coiled metallic-bronze wiring. The natural grain of the wood gives it an earthy, weathered texture fitting for an heirloom passed down through generations.
Carved prominently onto the face of the whistle is a geometric four-pointed star surrounded by four circular nodes. When dormant, the sigil looks like an intricate inlay, but it faintly glows with a swirling, soft violet luminescence whenever magical air flows through it. The whistle has one charge, and recharges at Dawn.
Blowing this whistle acts as casting the spell ‘Confusion’ with a 4th level spell slot, and can be heard for 100ft. The DC for the saving throw is 15.
