Armor (shield), very rare (requires attunement by a Cleric)

A shield as old as your family, it has protected many generations. Now, they guide your path.

You gain a +2 bonus to AC while wearing this shield.

While attuned to this shield you always have spirit guardians prepared, and it does not count against your number of spells prepared.

When you cast this spell a shield wall formed by your ancestors rushes out, knocking creatures back. Any creatures you choose in an area 25 feet wide, 5 feet long centered in front of you must make a Strength saving throw equal to your Spell Save DC for this spell. On a failed save the creature is pushed back 10 feet and knocked prone.

Furthermore while this spell is active your allies within the area gain a +1 bonus to AC, and cannot be flanked.

Ancestral Set: There are three pieces of the ancestral set. For each piece you are attuned to your spirit guardians spell becomes more powerful.

  • 1 Piece. The Save DC for your spirit guardians spell increases by 1 for each piece you are attuned to.
  • 2 Pieces. The damage of your spirit guardians increased by 1d8.
  • 3 Pieces. The range of your spirit guardians increases to 30ft. You can cast spirit guardians at 5th level without consuming a spell slot. Once you use this ability it cannot be used again until the next dawn.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
