Crafted from the edge of a shattered nether-realm, this massive Runeblade crackles with necrotic power. You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
Split Edge (Form Change)
As a bonus action, or as part of drawing the weapon, you can press the unholy runes along the ricasso to split Apocalypse into twin longswords (Death and Famine), or join them back into a single greatsword.
-
Two-Handed Mode (Greatsword): Deals 2d6 slashing damage + 1d8 necrotic damage.
-
Dual-Wield Mode (Twin Longswords): Each sword deals 1d8 slashing damage + 1d4 necrotic damage and gains the Finesse property.
Unholy Energy
Apocalypse holds 6 charges and regains 1d4 + 2 expended charges daily at dawn. When you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points or score a critical hit, you regain 1 charge.
-
Unholy Blight (1 Charge): When you hit a creature, you can expend 1 charge to burst the target with necrotic rot. The target and up to two creatures within 10 feet of it must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or take 3d8 necrotic damage and have their speed halved until the start of your next turn.
-
Soul Reaper (2 Charges): When you hit a creature, you can expend 2 charges to inflict a lingering curse. At the start of its next turn, the creature takes 4d10 necrotic damage. If it dies from this damage, its soul explodes, dealing 2d10 necrotic damage to all creatures within 10 feet.
-
Scourge Strike (3 Charges): As an action, you strike the ground. Ghastly spectral blades erupt in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in the area must make a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw, taking 8d10 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
Form-Specific Passives

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
