On a 1 the effect is not reflected and any damage you take is doubled. The spell Magic Missile will always be reflected back at the caster. Anguish regains 1d4 charges daily at dawn.
Despise Magic. Even if the wielder has proficiency with shields, they can't cast spells because of the dark power which this shield resonates with.

Curse. This shield is cursed, a fact that is revealed only when an identify spell is cast on the shield. You are forcefully attuned to the shield if you equip it. Attuning to the shield curses you until you are affected by the Greater Restoration spell or similar magic; removing the shield fails to end the curse.
