Arcimaghi's Potion Launcher

Powered by the dubiously-sentient, floating, robotic eye once known as Butler Cancelo inserted into its power slot, this device is both a technological marvel and an alchemist's best friend.

The eye appears to display faint telekinetic abilities, strong enough to continuously reload the launcher with potions and propel them for further distances than normal.

A shoulder-mounted potion launcher that mechanically functions like a sling, but leaves your hands free and does not require attunement. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Active Ability

This magic item has 3 charges that replenish after a short or long rest. During your turn, you can expend one charge from the item to throw a potion as a free action. Potions thrown this way have a range of up to 40 feet as opposed to the usual 20 feet. 

Furthermore, once per long rest, if the Potion Launcher is targeted with the [spells]mending[/spell] cantrip or repaired using Tinker's Tools using 20 gp worth of components, it immediately gains 1d4 charges. If the user is proficient with Tinker's Tools, the latter option causes the item to gain 1d6 charges instead. Excess charges gained this way can exceed the maximum amount, but disappear following a short rest. 

Passive Abilities

While the launcher is equipped on your person, you gain the following benefits:

• You gain a +1 bonus to Arcana checks.
• You gain a +1 bonus to Perception checks.
• You gain a +1 bonus to the save DC of your potions if you're the one throwing/applying them (if you lend them to someone else, they don't receive this benefit).

Proficiency with a Sling allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
